MANILA BUS
Manila Bus. A common means of transport. In this series of prints, this mode of traveling takes on a different mission traversing a single thoroughfare. Akin to Noah’s ark, Cobcobo painstakingly created a vessel to rescue people to safety. Here, Cobcobo distilled the essence in Pinoy mode translating the ark to Manila Bus as a vehicle for evangelism where the artist himself takes on the duty of being the bus conductor.
Manila Bus is a fertile ground for giving birth to new babes in Christ (”Buntisan”). It is a place where the hungry are fed not by bread alone (“Feeding On A Saturday”). One undergoes a process of purification (“Under Construction”) and emerging as a new person (“Ark Of Letting Go”).
Manila bus takes the route plying the only Way, so as to discover the only Truth, and ultimately to commune with the provider of the only Life.
